Yellow ribbons are a legitimate symbol of us wanting our hostages back. They have a long history, going back to the hostages held by Iran in 1979-1980.
Yellow flags, on the other hand, are the new white flag of surrender.
When I see surrender flags, I want to tear them down. Because they are part of an insidious campaign to blame the victim. Not the hostages, but the State of Israel, and its government. And most particularly its elected Prime Minister.
When you say “Bring them home!”, you are putting the onus on Israel, or on its leadership. This is not a moral thing to do. But it’s exactly what the money behind these demonstrations and posters and billboards and millions of yellow flags want.
Israel is already doing everything it can to rescue our hostages. But we will not endanger 10 million people for 100 people. That’s insane.
We released 1027 vicious terrorist scumbags to get back a single hostage: Gilad Shalit. One of those vicious terrorist scumbags was named Yahya Sinwar, who went on to plan and execute the mini-Holocaust of October 7. That’s what happens when we turn off our brains and operate on the basis of our feelings.
Demogogues like Ehud Barach use those feelings to manipulate and destroy. They use their billions to buy props and put slogans in your mouths. I passed signs today that said, “What if it was your child?” How sick is it to engage in that sort of emotional bullying? Don’t let him. Just say no to “Bring them home”.
Say instead, “Let them go!” Put the onus where it belongs: on the scumbags holding our people prisoner. And don’t make the mistake of thinking that this means Hamas. It was Joe “Palestinian” on the street who ran into Israel after Hamas took down our fence and defenses. It was “innocent civilians” who stole themselves sabayas (sex slaves) and are still holding them. Even Hamas doesn’t know the location of all of them.
We need to stop pretending that there’s anyone in Gaza who isn’t part of the hostage taking savage enemy.
Totally agree it should always have been "Let them go" !
"We released 1400 vicious terrorist scumbags to get back a single hostage: Gilad Shalit. One of those vicious terrorist scumbags was named Yahya Sinwar, who went on to plan and execute the mini-Holocaust of October 7."
OK, so we traded 1,400 of theirs for one of ours. How about we trade one of ours (that same "one"... or maybe Ehud Barach) for the hundred-or-so whom they're holding hostage? The numbers "crunch", and come out at better than 10-to-1, in their favor.
